Participants' feedback

“Following my visit to Trucksim on 18 March 2004, firstly may I say how much I enjoyed the day…….
There are obvious benefits to this simulator. It could be used to evaluate both in-house and agency drivers prior to employment, annual driver re-assessment, re-assessment after poor accident record an traumatic situation training in a risk free environment, i.e. blow outs, skidding on icy surfaces, mechanical failure etc…..
Once again many thanks for the opportunity of using Trucksim.”
Chris Carter, Sainsbury’s

“It was refreshing to encounter a group who understand the dynamics of both truck driver training and drivers and who see simulators as a means to an end and not just as a marketing exercise. The added value element of the simulator was readily apparent and its benefit for professional career development stands out…..Many thanks for an extremely beneficial and stimulating morning.”
Lt Col CR Chambers, MOD

"The additional training that can be attached to the Truck Sim is phenomenal, Tachograph Training, Hazard Perception, Engineering Principles, Transport Law, Fuel Economy, Defensive Driving etc etc the list is enormous, especially if these elements could be developed into a Transport based Apprenticeship or NVQ." Simon Wilson, National Training Manager, Exel

“I am writing to thank you for a very enjoyable morning, spent evaluating the various modules of the Trucksim programme, which I attended, along with 3 colleagues, on Monday 19th January 2004.
All agreed that this (the full mission simulator) was a most impressive piece of kit. By far the most talked about activity of the day. The general feeling of the group being that there seems to be little that could be done to improve the whole package….
Once again, many thanks for a highly interesting visit….”
Les Radcliffe, Road/Rail Manager South, Balfour Beatty Rail Plant

“…The real strength for me is in providing situational training for drivers to experience incidents which cannot be experienced safely in a real truck, e.g. jack-knifes / rollovers / blow outs etc…”
Martin Calkin, Northern Region Transport Manager, Safeway
